The epistle of Jude was written to encourage God's people and to warn them against false doctrine and teachers that have become popular. The excerpt from the message which is our reference text was where Jude encouraged the believers to keep fighting on and contending for the faith. That is, at no point in time should they relax or not to be on the watch. What does it means to fight for the faith?
i. To hold on to the basics of the Christian faith which is rooted in the love of God for mankind as shown by the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ and realizing that you have been death to a life of sin and have been made alive unto righteousness.
ii. Not to entertain any addition to the instruction that Jesus Christ gave by not serving God the way the ungodly serve their gods.
iii. Not to negotiate or compromise on the biblical principles of consecration, holiness and love.
iv. To be ready to be faced with oppositions while willing not to conform yourself to the world.

Beloved, this is the call that we have as Christians. May God strengthen you to keep contending for the faith in Jesus' Name. Amen.
