LIVING FOR GOD DAILY DEVOTIONAL
TUESDAY MARCH 31, 2015
THEME: GOD NEVER DISAPPOINTS
REFERENCE TEXT:
"When it happens, everyone will say, He is our God! We have put
our trust in Him, and he has rescued us. He is the Lord! We have
put our trust in Him, and now we are happy and joyful because
he has saved us"- Isaiah 25:9 (GNB)
REFERENCE HYMN:
"Mo gba O gbo tokantokan
Mo gba O gbo O
Mo gba O gbo tokantokan
Mo gba O gbo O"
"I believe Thee whole heartedly
I believe Thee Lord
I believe Thee whole heartedly
I believe Thee Lord"- CCC Hymn 540 stanza 1
Prophet Isaiah is saying what will happen in the latter days
submitted clearly that at the end time, those that have waited
upon the Lord faithfully will see that their waiting and patience is
not in vain as God will come to rescue them.
The text is emphasizing that God will never disappoint those
who will wait on Him sincerely and trust in Him. That is, when
hard time comes, they still remain resolute by not denying their
faith just like Job. When prayers seem to be unanswered, they
will still remain a regular worshipper at Shiloh just like Hannah.
When promises seem to be getting delayed, they will still be
giving thanks and rejoicing in the Lord.
Beloved, this is the kind of disposition expected of you as a
believer. By doing this God cannot but come to your aid at the
appropriate time. May God grant you the grace to hold on to
God firmly for your breakthrough in Jesus' Name. Amen.
Surely, there may be temptation to try alternative means but
please be immovable in the Lord and I am certain that it will end
up in praise in Jesus' Name.
Prayer point: Oh Lord, grant me the grace to hold on to you till
the end in Jesus' Name.
Further readings: Psalms 12:6, Job 42:12-16, Daniel 2:19-22
Questions
(i) What was Prophet Isaiah's prophecy for the latter days?
(ii) What should a believer do when delay comes?
(iii) What major lessons can be learnt from this study about our
Almighty God?

Why You Should Never Date Someone You Feel You Need [READ UP]

Now, you might be thinking, “What is this girl saying? Why
shouldn’t I be with someone I need?” I’ll tell you why: A
significant other should be a person who complements you,
not completes you. A great many people in relationships get
so caught up with their significant others, they begin to lose
sight of who they were before they were in committed
relationships. But, that’s not what a relationship is meant
for.
I suppose relationships are kind of like riding bikes: We all
grow up watching others ride bikes, which makes us want to
get in on the action; we learn how to ride bikes by watching
others and then by learning on our own. The bike is a
metaphor for your life: You are fully capable of taking control
of it; you go where you please, at whatever pace you please.
But, every so often, you reach a bumpy road or you lose
balance — this is where your significant other comes into
play.
A partner is like your handy-dandy set of training wheels.
You’ve had training wheels before, maybe even a few sets.
But, now that you are capable of riding a bike without help,
you keep your current set in hand, just in case you want to
take a ride with them on. Now, listen up: You don’t need
these training wheels, but you do want them. Maybe these
training wheels are beautiful and have a great personality, to
boot! You are fully capable of conquering some bumpy
roads, but you choose to put on a set of training wheels.
Why? They’re reliable; they give you a sense of comfort and
help you through twisty roads, similar to the ones you are
facing this very moment.
Relationships should be like this bike-and-training-wheels
concept. You don’t need a significant other; you shouldn’t
need anyone, really. But, if you choose to have someone,
make sure you don’t get lost in the relationship. Don’t allow
yourself to need a person; a significant other should simply
be there, right by your side to enjoy this crazy fun ride we
call life and help you get through dark times, which you are
fully capable of getting through on your own. It’s just nice to
have a support system for when things get a little rough.
Some of you might be thinking, “Well, I don’t need my
boyfriend or girlfriend for everything, just a few things here
and there. Who else is going to help me get through this loss
or this bad day?” Think about it this way: Wouldn’t you want
to be able to get over life’s humps without the help of
anyone else? How would you overcome strife if you didn’t
have this person in your life? Life throws crazy curveballs at
everyone, so it only makes sense we have the innate ability
and strength to get past them ourselves. Every obstacle
offers a lesson — a lesson meant to create strength and
wisdom for you. So, if you ever find yourself telling your
boyfriend or girlfriend, “I need you,” take some time out of
your life and ask yourself, “Why do I need this person? What
can he/she do for me that I can’t do for myself?” Once you
are able to answer those questions, make it your goal to be
enough for yourself. Once you can fulfill your own needs and
create your own happiness without the help of anyone else,
you can truly start to create happiness with another person.
I guess you can call me an advocate of believing in yourself,
and my question to you is why not? Essentially, as humans,
we’re taught to be self-sufficient. So, why lose those
standards to someone else? There are no good reasons out
there that can justify why a once-independent person has
lost his or her ability to be self-fulfilled. Being with someone
is about witnessing his or her success and letting him or her
share in your happiness. Never let yourself believe you need
someone else to be “good enough” because only you can
define what’s “good enough” for you.
I’m not trying to bash relationships — I love love. But, I am a
firm supporter of self-sufficiency. People need to be able to
achieve their dreams and conquer their struggles without
depending on another. But, if there is a special someone, he
or she should be there for the sole reason of offering support
or comfort. Sharing failures and successes can be a
beautiful thing, but remember, you, alone, can overcome the
storm and you, alone, can achieve your goals.
Don’t be with someone you need. Be with someone who
motivates you, supports you and loves you for the way you
are. So, go ride that bike and remember, those training
wheels don’t define you, they just complement your riding
style (not that there’s anything wrong with the way you
bike)!

THEME: ESSENCE OF THE SCRIPTURES (II)

"The voice of the Lord comes to you
From the heaven above
Be prepared to respond to the call
So ye might see the glory"- CCC Hymn 291
Yesterday, we started studying the essence of the scripture
where it was submitted that one of the essence of the scripture
is to teach us. Also, as we shall be continuing, the scripture was
also written to give us hope through patience and
encouragement. What this means is that, it should help us to
continually hold on to Jesus when we are faced with unpleasant
situations and trying moments. This is true as of the scriptures
as:
i. The story of Abraham is to give us hope that nothing is too
difficult for God to do even when it is against all facts.
ii. The story of Daniel is to give us hope that so far we hold onto
God, he will always be there for us.
iii. The passage of Prophet Ezekiel and the dry bone is to give us
hope that every dry bone or dead situation in our life can still
come back to life.
iv. The story of Hannah who was a barren and latter gave birth
to 5 children is to give us hope that indeed, once a barren can be
mother of children.
Beloved, the scripture has been put in place to give us hope and
encourage us. May God grant you the grace to commit yourself
to the scripture in Jesus' Name.
Prayer point: Oh Lord, let me continually draw hope through the
encouragement I will be receiving from the scripture in Jesus'
Name.

4:18-22

(i) According to today's reading, what is another essence of the

stanza 1
Have you ever wondered why the scripture was written? Have
you ever wondered why some portions of the bible were not left
out? Our reference text this morning is submitting clearly that all
biblical events were put down so that the events can teach us.
Do you therefore need a teacher? Consult the scripture. This
submission by Apostle Paul is correct because:
i. The story of Gehazi is on record to teach us to know the
proper times for events.
ii. The encounter between Samson and Delilah did not go off
record to point to us that a man's glory can be cut short if he
failed to deal with deserting sins.
iii. The story of Ananias and Saphira is to teach us that God
does not tolerate dishonesty.
iv. The story of Nebuchadnezzar is to teach us that a king who
refuses to give honour to God can in a moment become like
animals eating grass.
v. The story of Gideon is to teach us that it is not only good to
start well but it is also essential to end well.
vi. The story of king Ahab and Naboth is to teach us that God is
a God of vengeance.
Beloved, do not ignore all this teachings and it shall be well with
you in Jesus' Name.
Prayer point: Oh Lord, grant me the grace to daily adhere to your
teachings in Jesus' Name.

This is a reminder to those trampling on the injunction and
tenets of CCC by allowing women to preach and teach during
Sunday service in the name of "Packaging theology" Romans
9:20-21 "But who are you, a human being, to talk back to God?
Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you
make me like this?’ Does not the potter have the right to make
out of the same lump of clay some pottery for special purposes
and some for common use?"
How can we say we are evangelising Christ and at the same
time refused to obey and follow Christ injunction giving to the
founder of the church?
Celestial Church of Christ came after Jesus Christ therefore
every injunction laid down by papa Oshoffa is known to the
foundation of the church which is our Lord Jesus Christ. (Nipa
agbara Eje Jesu, ni Baba fi gbe kale)
To all our elders/leaders/shepherds/mothers; let us cast aside
our earthly aspirations and look unto "wo ise na to pe mi si, wo
Ona na to yan mi si" and work for the purification of our souls
and not lose any sheep in the process.
It is very clear even crystal clear that women are not allowed in
CCC to preach or teach during Sunday devotional worship.
Any programmes for our mothers must be arrange in a way not
to conflict with Christ injunction for His church.

the World. Many nominal Christians there who were confronted
by difficulties and problems of this world. They run after fetish
priests and other power of darkness for all kinds of assistance.
Consequently, on their death, they cannot see Christ because, by

TODAY'S MOTIVATIONAL NOTE

By Bro Idowu Omiyale
Listen, you are not who you used to be,and that’s OK.You’ve been hurt;you’ve gone through numerous ups and downs that have made you who you are today.Over the years,so many things have happened – things that have changed your perspective, taught you lessons and forced your spirit to grow.As time passes, nobody stays the same, but some people will still tell you that you have changed.Well, respond to them by saying “Ofcourse I’ve changed, that’s what life is all about. But I’m still the same person, just a little stronger now than I ever was before.”

Remember,Life is 10% of what happens to you and 90% of how we handle it;at the end of the day you either focus on what's tearing u apart or what's holding you together...
#ThinkPositive

Good morning to you all.
Happy voting. #ThumbNotFist #VoteNotFight

FOOD FOR THOUGHT

God created work even before the fall of Adam and He intended it for good. When Adam fell then a curse fell upon him "...cursed is the ground for thy sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy life" - Gen 3:17.

Thank God for redemption so we are no longer under 'the curse' but 'the blessing' this blessing makes rich and adds no sorrow with it.

Work is neither a punishment nor a curse, work is God's covenant pathway to prosperity.

When God wants to bless a man, He gives him opportunity dressed in an overall called 'WORK'. It is as the man diligently carries out this work that God pours out His blessing on Him.
"... so that the LORD your God may bless all the work you do." - Deut. 24:19.

God doesn't bless an idle hand, he doesn't bless a fraudulent hand but he blesses the hand that works diligently and righteously.
"Wealth gained dishonestly dwindles away, but whoever works diligently increases his prosperity." - Proverbs 13:11

Stop seeking the easy way out, embrace work! There is dignity in Labour.
Make up your mind to work to a positive end as from today.
May the Lord bless the work of your hands...‎

Ondo deputy gov defects, Mimiko wishes him well

Barely two days to the presidential election, the Ondo State
deputy governor, Alhaji Ali Olanusi, has dumped the Peoples
Democratic Party to the rival All Progressives Congress in the
state.
The development came barely five days after the Rivers State
Deputy Governor, Mr. Tele Ikuru, dumped the APC for PDP.
In a swift reaction to Olanusi’s defection, the Ondo state
government said it wished the deputy governor well.
The state Commissioner for Information, Kayode Akinmade, in a
two-paragraph statement, said, “The state government just
received the news of the defection of Alhaji All Olanusi, the
Deputy Governor of Ondo State, to the All Progressives
Congress.
“Though it came as a surprise, the government acknowledges
his right to determine his political affiliation and wish him well.”
Announcing his defection on Thursday, Olanusi, in a statement,
said, “While still being in place as the democratically-elected
Deputy Governor of Ondo State, I have decided to lead my
teeming supporters and well wishers in the state into the All
Progressives Congress where we can find justice, fairness,
equity and democratic liberty, a party to which majority of our
kith and kin in Yorubaland belong.
“I have taken this decision at this critical time, in the best
interest of peace, stability and good governance of our dear
state and for the overall development of the South-West and the
nation.”
The deputy governor noted that as a result of the unfolding
political development in the country, particularly in Ondo State, it
was clear that he needed to chart a new course for majority of
his followers who looked up to him for direction and leadership.
“They (his followers) have watched helplessly in the last six
years the untold marginalisation and total exclusion from the
government they laboured to put in place,” he said.
The APC in the state, which received the news with delight,
stated that the development signalled victory for the party in the
coming elections.
The Publicity Secretary of the party, Omo’oba Adesanya, said
the party welcomed the deputy governor into the party, saying
more PDP members would be joining APC before the election.
He said, “We welcome him into the fold of the APC. It shows that
the wind of change that is blowing is across board.
“Olanusi understands the political rhythm and he is dancing to it
appropriately. Change is imminent and victory is certain.”
Meanwhile, the Deputy Speaker of the Ondo State House
Assembly, Dare Emiola, has dissociated himself from the
Olanusi’s action.
Olanusi and Eniola are both from the Akoko South-West Local
Government Area and had hitherto been strong political allies.
Eniola, in a statement in Akure on Thursday, asserted his
continued membership of the PDP in spite of Olanusi’s
defection.
He said, “I want to use this opportunity to dissociate myself
from the actions of the deputy governor, Alhaji Olanusi, who
dumped the PDP for APC.
“All the honourable members of the Ondo State House of
Assembly are still full-fledged members of the PDP to which I
belong.”
He also said the PDP would sweep the polls on Saturday
despite the defection of the deputy governor, calling on all
supporters of the party to remain steadfast.
The traditional ruler of Supare Akoko, hometown of Olanusi, Oba
Adejoro Adedeji, also on Thursday described the deputy
governor’s defection as “a rude shock and embarrassment to
the Supare community.”
The monarch said this in a chat with journalists in Akure.
Adedeji, who noted that the defection was of no effect, said the
decision of the deputy governor was unilateral as he never
informed any member of the community before he defected.
“Olanusi is on his own,” he said.
Also on Thursday, the PDP in Ondo State said Olanusi was
never a member of the party going by the last re-registration
exercise conducted in the party.
A statement by the party’s Publicity Director, Ayo Fadaka,
stated that the deputy governor was not registered both in his
ward and local government by the party.
The Ondo PDP spokesman said, “It is however pertinent for us
to underscore the fact that Alhaji Olanusi is not a member of the
PDP in Ondo State as he was not re-registered in his ward and
local government by the party.
“While admitting that he attended two party functions recently,
he was a passive observer at such functions and his attendance
does not in any manner confer membership on him.
“By his latest political gymnastic, it is obvious that he had been
a clandestine member of the APC and a mole in the government
of Governor Olusegun Mimiko and has just received the order to
declare openly for them.”
He noted that Olanusi’s action was intended to serve as a
response to the declaration of Ikuru in Rivers, adding that “both
are however not in the same cadre, while Ikuru possess the
power and influence to inflict devastating damages on APC in
Rivers State, same cannot be said of Ali Olanusi of Ondo State.”

Politics: Thugs open fire on Gov Amaechi’s convoy

RIVERS State Governor Rotimi Amaechi escaped unhurt in Obio/
Akpor Local Government Area on Thursday when gunmen,
suspected to be political thugs, fired shots at his convoy.
Two members of the All Progressives Congress were however
unlucky as they were seriously injured in the incident, which
happened at about 6pm on Thursday.
The governor was on a door-to-door ward campaign of the
area.
An SMS sent to our correspondent by the Chief Press Secretary
to the Governor, Mr. David Iyofor, indicated that the attackers
made bonfire along a major road in the area to prevent the
governor from leaving.
The SMS read, “This evening, gunshots were fired at the convoy
of Rivers State Governor Rotimi Amaechi at Rumuolumeni,
Obio/Akpor LGA by PDP thugs.
“Obio/Akpor is the home of the PDP governorship candidate in
the state, Nyesom Wike. The thugs attacked the governor’s
convoy and his entourage with bottles, stones and other
dangerous objects. Then gunshots were fired at the convoy.
“When the governor was leaving the community, bonfire was set
up on the road to prevent him from leaving. More gunshots
were fired at his convoy. Amaechi was on door-to-door ward
campaign in the state.”
The Greater Together Campaign Organisation, a team in charge
of the APC candidate, Dakuku Peterside’s governorship
campaign, described the attack on the convoy as part of the
plan to assassinate chieftains and members of the APC.
The Director of the campaign organisation, Mrs. Ibim
Semenitari, said in a statement   in Port Harcourt that the thugs
were repelled by the governor’s security personnel.
Semenitari lamented that the situation in the state had become
worrisome considering that a group of security operatives had
gone to the governor’s home town to carry out a secret
investigation.
The statement read in part, “In keeping with their plans to attack
and assassinate chieftains and members of the APC, thugs of
the PDPambushed the convoy of Governor Amaechi, who was
on a door-to-door campaign in Rumuolumeni, Obio/Akpor,
Rivers State.
“The thugs were repelled by the governor’s security personnel.
However, the PDP in Rivers State has concluded plans to launch
house-to-house attack on APC chieftains in the state with the
aid of security personnel.”
When contacted, the state Police Public Relations Officer,
Ahmad Mohammad, told our correspondent that he was still
trying to reach out to the Divisional Police Officer in Obio/Akpor
to ascertain the veracity of the claim that the governor’s convoy
was attacked.
Mohammad promised to react to the matter as soon as he got
any response from the DPO in Obio/Akpor but he had yet to
keep the promise as of 9pm on Thursday.
Also in Edo State, the government on Thursday alleged
deployment of armed soldiers in the country home of Governor
Adams Oshiomhole in Iyamoh     Etsakor West LGA.
A statement by the state Commissioner for Information and
Orientation, Louis Odion, said the presence of the soldiers was
to “intimidate the governor on   election day.”
The statement read in part, “Family members of the governor
were shocked to find his country home taken over by soldiers
this(Thursday) afternoon. When asked, the invading force said
they were acting on orders from above.
“We also have it on good authority that the Army high command
in Abuja had sent some soldiers to Edo State on what they
described as ‘special operations’.
“In order not to arouse suspicion, these soldiers were told to
dress in suits and pose as SSS operatives and station them at
polling units on election day, particularly in areas seen as APC
strongholds.”

News: Robbers attack banks in Ondo, kill manager

Armed robbers struck in Owo town in Ondo State on Thursday,
robbing some banks and killing a bank manager.
Our correspondent gathered that the robbers, numbering about
10, killed the manager of a branch of Wema Bank in the town
and another employee of the bank during the robbery.
It was learnt that the deceased, whose identities were yet to be
identified, were shot by the robbers for allegedly refusing to
cooperate with them.
Residents said the robbers came into the town through the
Abuja-Owo area at about 5pm, manned strategic entry and exit
points into the town and started firing sporadically into the air.
One of them, who spoke on the condition of anonymity, said
when the robbers got to the centre of the town, they robbed
three branches of new generation banks.
It was also learnt that some bystanders, who were caught in the
middle of the attack, were seriously injured.
Another resident, who did not wish to be named, said the
incident took place while about eight policemen were watching
helplessly. He added that they could not challenge the robbers.
“The robbers announced their arrival by firing sporadically.
Policemen were watching them, but were too scared to
challenge the robbers.”
It was gathered that the robbers escaped with undisclosed
amount of money stolen from the banks after two hours of
operation.
The state police command’s Public Relations Officer, Wole
Ogodo, said the details of the incident were still sketchy, adding
that police had mobilise its men to deal with the situation.
“As I speak to you, what we have about the incident is still
sketchy. We have deployed our men in the area. I will speak
with you when I get the details,” Ogodo said.

Co-pilot deliberately crashed Germanwings plane – Report

The co-pilot of the Germanwings flight that crashed in the
French Alps, named as Andreas Lubitz, appeared to want to
“destroy the plane”, officials said.
Marseille prosecutor Brice Robin, citing information from the
“black box” voice recorder, said the co-pilot was alone in the
cockpit, the British Broadcasting Corporation reports.
He intentionally started a descent while the pilot was locked out.
Robin said there was “absolute silence in the cockpit” as the
pilot fought to re-enter it.
He said air traffic controllers made repeated attempts to contact
the aircraft, but to no avail. Passengers could be heard
screaming just before the crash, he added.
Details are emerging of the German co-pilot’s past – although
his apparent motives for causing the crash remain a mystery.
Lubitz, 28, had undergone intensive training and “was 100% fit
to fly without any caveats”, according to Carsten Spohr, the
head of Lufthansa, the German carrier that owns Germanwings.
Spohr said Lubitz’s training had been interrupted briefly six
years ago but was resumed after “the suitability of the
candidate was re-established”.
German Chancellor Angela Merkel told reporters that the co-
pilot’s apparent actions had given the tragedy a “new, simply
incomprehensible dimension”.
The Airbus 320 from Barcelona to Duesseldorf hit a mountain,
killing all 144 passengers and six crew, after an eight-minute
descent.
“We hear the pilot ask the co-pilot to take control of the plane
and we hear at the same time the sound of a seat moving
backwards and the sound of a door closing,” Robin told
reporters.
He said the pilot, named in the German media as Patrick S, had
probably gone to the toilet.
“At that moment, the co-pilot is controlling the plane by himself.
While he is alone, the co-pilot presses the buttons of the flight
monitoring system to put into action the descent of the
aeroplane.
“He operated this button for a reason we don’t know yet, but it
appears that the reason was to destroy this plane.”
Lubitz was alive until the final impact, the prosecutor said.
Robin said “the most plausible interpretation” was that the co-
pilot had deliberately barred the pilot from re-entering the
cockpit.
He added that the co-pilot was “not known by us” to have any
links to extremism or terrorism.
Passengers were not aware of the impending crash “until the very last moment” when screams could be heard, Mr Robin said, adding that they died instantly.
Meanwhile, relatives and friends of the victims are due to visit the area of the crash.
Lufthansa has arranged two special flights for families and
friends on Thursday – one from Barcelona and one from
Duesseldorf – to Marseille, and both groups will travel on by
road. Separately, some relatives who did not want to fly are
travelling by bus from Barcelona.
The second “black box” – that records flight data – has still not
been found.

Imam forces 10-year-old boy to do 170 push ups for inability to recite Quran

A young boy was rushed to a hospital after his teacher forced him to do 170 pushups because he was unable to recite a chapter of the Quran, police in India said. The teacher of Bareilly, also hit the 10-year-old boy with a stick and sat on his chest until he fainted. The child is said to be in critical condition. The incident unfolded at a Madrasa, which is located on Pilibhit Bypass Road. The child's parents pressed charges of assault against the teacher and two other school employees. The teacher and his helpers fled from the scene shortly after the boy collapsed. The child suffered serious injuries to the ribs and spine.

Have You Prayed Today? (Col 4:2)

Have you prayed yet today? (Col 4:2)
Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving. (Colossians 4:2)
The purpose of this Daily Exhortation is, in essence, to be a simple reminder by way of a question…
Have you prayed yet today?
It’s a great question to have in your heart, and hear in your mind, when you’re tempted to go through the motions of a given day and neglect the amazing grace of prayer.
I often hear people answer the question “how’s it going today?” with responses like, “you know, same old”, “same thing different day”, “nothing new”, and should the pattern of our life be similar from day to day, that’s not necessarily a bad thing at all. However, if that “same old” pattern of living involves going through the motions of life without persistent prayer… something new needs to happen.
By way of his writings, the Apostle Paul modeled consistent prayer for the recipients of his letters and the body of Christ throughout the centuries. One church, among the many that he interceded for, was the church at Colosse. As he opened the letter and greeted “the saints and faithful brethren at Colosse” (1:2) on behalf of himself and Timothy, he told them,
“We give thanks to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, praying always for you” (vs.3)
Note the word “always”.
We know Paul, writing under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit, was not lying or exaggerating. He was telling the truth. The exact truth.
He exhorted the Thessalonians to pray without ceasing (1 Thes 5:17) and he modeled that type of prayer life throughout his ministry. He told the Thessalonians, “we give thanks to God always for you all, making mention of you in our prayers”. (1 Thes 1:2)
Once again, note the word “always”.
To the saints at Rome he said that without ceasing he made mention of them in prayer (Rom 1:8).
Note the words “without ceasing”.
This was normal life for the Apostle Paul… and he expected it to be normal for the Christians he prayed for.
He told the Colossians, “Continue earnestly in prayer, being vigilant in it with thanksgiving”. (Col 4:2)
This is was the model that he followed.
Even in the short list of references provided in this daily exhortation that pattern is evident.
Notice how he begins that verse. He says, “continue earnestly”. The Greek word Paul uses there is the word proskartereó. It’s comprised of two parts: pros and karteréō. Pros means “towards”, and karteréō means to “show steadfast strength”. Thus, the idea of the word is to move in a fixed direction showing steadfast (persevering) strength despite difficulties.
This is how he expected the Christian to constantly attend prayer.
Understand that for you and I to continue steadfastly in prayer it will involve persevering past difficulties.
Sometimes it will be easy to pray. You know those times. You feel as though prayers are being continually brought to your mind, your attention is seemingly uninterrupted (or at least much less), and you feel as though you could stay in the Lord’s presence for hours. Then there are those times when you feel like everything that is not important in that moment comes to mind. Places you have to go… or don’t have to go. Things you have to do… or don’t have to do, yet you still find yourself thinking about it and an assortment of other distractions.
May you be exhorted to not be discouraged by that… persevere past that difficulty and continue earnestly in prayer.
Remember, the word proskarteréō means to move in a fixed direction showing steadfast (persevering) strength despite difficulties.
